Application Pre-Read

Application Pre-Read defined:  An applicant's likelihood of admission to HWS and their likelihood of receiving a merit scholarship.

Application Pre-Read Timeline:  July 1- October 1

Materials needed to conduct the Application Pre-Read:

1. Unofficial High School Transcript - Grades 9-11

2. SAT or ACT Superscore

   1. HWS is test optional.  If you choose not to submit standardized test scores, you may not be considered for merit scholarships.

3. School Profile (optional)

Financial Aid Pre-Read defined:  An applicant’s likely TOTAL financial aid package.  This includes merit scholarships, grant money, and need based financial aid.  

Financial Aid Pre-Read timeline:  October 1 - November 15

Materials Needed to conduct the Financial Aid Pre-Read:

1. Submit regular decision Common Application to HWS

2. Submit CSS Financial Aid Profile

Once the Common App and CSS Profile are submitted, you will receive your financial aid pre-read in 10-14 days. You could have an admissions decision and financial aid package as early as October 15 WITHOUT having to apply early decision.
