We have a good balance between skill development and competition training. Players are given a lot of ownership over their game and many opportunities to advance their position on the team's ladder. Coach's and players work together to track progress that is made over time. This helps us create a game plan for improvement specific to each player's goals.
Strength and Conditioning Training is a core part of our training program. We are fortunate to have amazing S&C coaches at HWS. Workouts are energetic and tennis specific. We track each player's progress over the course of the semester, year, and college career at Hobart. This helps us create strength goals that align with tennis goals.
Our Performance Training Program consists of regular meetings with the coaching staff throughout each semester. during these meeting we discuss each player's game plan, goals, and asses strengths and weaknesses. We also watch video and create plans for players to development their awareness, discipline, and toughness. A visiting sports psychologist works with the team each semester. He is also available to student-athletes for individual meetings.
Leadership Development is essential to our success in building a championship caliber team culture. All players are given the opportunity to lead and develop their leadership abilities. We follow a process driven plan that graduates leaders from one year to the next. This process covers specific leadership topics for each class year.
